Ngir GAMBIA was founded in September 2020 to support the COVID-19 response effort in The Gambia. We have remained active to help communities and healthcare providers strive for better health and continue to collaborate with notable institutions in The Gambia’s health sector. We receive technical advice from medical, legal, IT, HR, finance, and operations professionals who are Gambians and friends of The Gambia.

OUR MISSION: To promote initiatives for better health in The Gambia, including health literacy, access, and systems support.

The small things make a big difference. Why Ngir GAMBIA Supports Healthcare Worker Recognition

(December 2021 to Present Date)

At a hospital, patient care is everyone’s business. Working with the Head of COVID-19 Case Management, at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH) Bakau Centre, which houses The Gambia’s only COVID-19 treatment center, we designed a program that would motivate staff to remain in service to their community and drive performance across six values (Caring, Collaboration, Commitment, Infection control, Punctuality and Safety First), which foster positive outcomes in clinical settings. An outstanding employee is recognised each month for demonstrating these values and awarded the sum of GMD 4,000.
